Change of update strategy for the product GMG ColorProof

Since the release of ColorProof 5.10 in April 2018 we have started to provide you with regular patches. The patches are released every 2 to 4 weeks. This ensures that fixes for reported issues reach the user faster than before.
Previously, Service Releases contained all fixes, but were not released frequently. The new patches are smaller, which reduces the installation and downtime period.
The patches are cumulative: a new patch contains all optimizations of the previous patches. You only have to install the last patch of a ColorProof version to get your system up to date.

Information for remote proofing:
The used sender and receiver systems are compatible with different patch versions. Example:
  • S: ColorProof --> R: --> Compatible
  • S: ColorProof --> R: --> Not compatible

Resolved issues

The following technical issues have been resolved in ColorProof Please note that the list describes the original problem, not the solution.

Multicolor ICC - 'Label to Chain'
ColorProof-jobs with multicolor-ICC and more than 6 channels, db3 spot colors and image labels could not be printed. The error was: 'Not Implemented – Label To Chain'. [20930, UK-8282]

Error in Customer's ENV - DotProof-Jobs could not be verified

In the customers environment, it was possible to successfully verify contone proofs. Dotproof jobs were not verified. They showed a yellow question mark with the warning: "Proofverification is not possible. The control strip does not match either the verification requirements, or any defined ProofControl standard." However, when you exported the job and printed it on a clean system, the job was successfully verified. The error only happened in the customers environment. [02486]

Nesting cannot be cancelled successfully
Jobs with nesting sometimes could not be cancelled. They remained in the job list and could not be deleted. The workaround was using the service function 'Delete all jobs'. [02448]

End of Life

Please note, that we will no longer provide bug fixes, maintenance releases, workarounds, or patches for bugs found in or older.
